10 Natural-Looking Celebrity Hair Transplant Results

A hair transplant procedure is one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures performed today and celebrities are no exception.

Many public figures, Hollywood actors, and football players have undergone this procedure to maintain their youthful appearance

In recent years, celebs have been more open about their hair transplants. Some of them have even used social media to broadcast their procedures and encourage others to do so as well.

In today’s post, we are sharing with you 10 top celebrity hair transplant results.

10 Celebrity Hair Transplant Results

Many celebrities have had hair transplants, some are successful, and others are complete failures. Some of these celebrities include:

Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal is one of the fittest and most successful professional Spanish tennis players. But hair loss – which started in his 20s – has threatened to derail his career.

His hair loss was visible on the top mid-scalp area and his hairline started to become thin. So, he decided to get a hair transplant.

Back in 2016, Nadal has undergone a hair transplant in Spain where he received a 4,500 graft implant. According to experts, it was a very successful one and the results looked natural.

However, some hair transplant experts anticipate that he might need another hair transplant sometime in the future.

Antonio Banderas

Antonia Banderas who is very fond of his hair, couldn’t accept the fact that his hairline was receding.
Although he prefers to keep it confidential and didn’t actually confirm getting a hair transplant it can be spotted easily by comparing his before and after photos.
Wayne Rooney

Perhaps one of the most famous celebrity hair transplant results was Wayne Rooney’s. His hair loss started very early in his 20s, so he decided to get a hair transplant.

Rooney had two FUE hair transplants, the first one was in 2011 to restore his hairline and temples. While he had a second surgery in 2013 in order to increase hair density.

Rooney has been very open about his hair transplant from the very first day. He tweeted “Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25 why not. I’m delighted with the result”.

John Travolta

Although he didn’t go out in public and confirm he had a hair transplant, but anyone who knows John Travolta can tell the difference.

Almost 7 or 8 years ago, a photo of Travolta in the gym was circulating on the internet. It was visible how his hairline has retreated.

However, comparing these photos with some recent ones we can be assured that he had a very successful hair transplant.

Matthew McConaughey

Whether Matthew McConaughey had a hair transplant or not is debatable. In an interview, Matthew denied that he ever had a hair transplant

He stated that he started experiencing hair loss back in 1999 and thanks to a product that he used to rub into his scalp helped him restore his hair.

For hair transplant experts it’s actually easier to tell if someone had a hair transplant or not, especially to the frontal and temporal area. And by comparing his old and current photos we can see the difference.

Jamie Foxx

Again, another undisclosed but obvious hair transplant is the one that Jamie Foxx had. Hair transplant experts assure that Jamie Foxx had a hair transplant in the 2000s.

It could be a FUT since FUE was not a mainstream technique at that time. Also, another piece of evidence is the tattoo he had on the back side if his head is probably to conceal his FUT scar.

Elon Musk

Another successful celebrity hair transplant result is the one Elon Musk had. Back in the 2000s when he was still the CEO of PayPal, Elon was spotted in a photo where his hair loss was very obvious.

His hairline was receding and the top mid-scalp area was thinning. It’s believed that Elon Musk had two FUT hair transplants which are clear from the scar he has on the back of his head.

David Beckham

Although he did not publicly reveal getting a hair transplant, it’s strongly believed that David Beckham had a very natural hair transplant in 2018.

Comparing photos with shorter hair, it looks clear that his hair was thinning especially on the middle-scalp area.

But in recent photos, it looks thicker and denser. It’s believed that he had his hair transplant using the FUE technique.

Jean Dujardin

Jean Dujardin is a French actor and comedian who is believed to have had a hair transplant.

Despite never speaking publicly about his hair transplant; we can tell that he had his hairline restored by following the progression of his hair loss.

Mel Gibson

The American star Mel Gibson has also undergone a hair transplant after he was experiencing hair loss in his 50s. His results turned out to be good and very natural.

Hair Transplant Surgery: What is it and What Does it Consist of?

If done correctly, a hair transplant should last a lifetime, though the procedure cannot stop natural hair loss.

The procedure is done by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist who moves hair to a bald area on the head.

The surgeon usually moves the hair from the back or side of the head (donor area) to the front or top of the head.  Hair transplants are usually performed in a doctor's office under local anesthesia.

How is a Hair Transplant Performed and What are the Techniques?

There are two main techniques are used to obtain follicles for transplantation: FUT and FUE.

In Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT):

The surgeon will use a scalpel to cut a strip of skin from the back of your head. The incision is usually several inches long. Then it is closed with stitches.

Next, the surgeon separates the excised part of the scalp into small sections using a magnifying glass and a sharp scalpel. When implanted, these sections will help achieve natural-looking hair growth.

In Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE):

Hair follicles are extracted directly from the back of the head through hundreds to thousands of small punch incisions.

The surgeon makes small incisions with a scalpel in the recipient area of the scalp. Then gently places hairs in these incisions.

In a single session, a surgeon can transplant thousands of hairs. Depending on the level of your baldness, you may need up to two or three sessions to achieve full coverage.

Sessions occur several months apart – at least 6 months – to allow each transplant to fully heal.
