I've just had my 6-month followup appointment at Focus. The original booking was at the height of lockdown and Focus had acted fast to check that my recovery was going well so we could reschedule to a later date. Having not been to the clinic since the pandemic hit the UK, I noticed upon arrival that Focus has nicely adapted to the situation with extra hygiene protocol set up and everyone in face masks. The appointment went well as always and I was talked through in details about how my eyes are doing with good advice for continued care. Had Lasek here on Aug 31st 2020 - Great service, was very happy with the team especially the surgeon. I had this surgery the same day as my sister and honestly it could not have gone better or smoother. I recently had my LASIK treatment done at this clinic and the team were amazing! If you're thinking to get LASIK done and you're still researching clinics then look no further and get it done at Focus. It all went well and I can now see without my glasses or contacts.
It feels amazing to be able to see the world without my glasses or contacts. But too bad I decided to get it done during Covid-19 as I can't explore the world properly yet!

Where do I start? Well from the beginning I suppose, absolutely amazing from the moment I picked up the phone the with the initial consultation through to the surgery and the follow up afterwards, the feedback the information not to say their expertise and guidance every step of the way was outstanding. A seamless transition from one stage of the procedure to the next, the whole process was painless both physically and emotionally thanks to the attentive caring staff. I am really happy with the services from Focus Clinic. I did a lot of research on where would be the best place for me to have my eye surgery, and the reviews certainly looked great. I was looking for somewhere that would be interested in looking after me as a patient and not just to take my money - which many other companies seemed to do. I was very satisfied with how Focus handled everything - I felt at no time any pressure to chose them or pay a deposit. Everything was very clearly explained to me and even when I had my video chat with the surgeon himself, I was told I still had no obligation to go ahead. The surgery was very easy and quick, and the aftercare was very clearly explained and everything was provided e.g. drops. I had perfect, clear vision after roughly 4 hours of recovery. The price seemed very reasonable which included every consultation, aftercare appointment, drops and they even corrected my astigmatism. The next day they tested my eyes and I had better than 20/20 vision. Would highly recommend.

Lovely service, lovely people and a very comfortable environment. The customer care has been amazing in the lead up and aftercare. The procedure was painless and fully explained what was happening at each stage and why everything was happening. All my questions were answered albeit very few as everything was explained so comprehensively in the first place. I cannot recommend Focus Clinics enough! I could see from the first day and gets better each day I go forward. I am seeing better already a month after surgery than I have ever seen with glasses or contacts. I wanted to get eye treatment for years but was always too scared or it wasn’t the right time. Focus was recommend to me by someone at my gym and her experience sounded great so I went for it. All of the staff were very nice and the procedure went smoothly and was actually fun. I now have amazing vision. However, on the day of treatment I had to wait a few hours longer than initially told, which was unnerving. I can't remember what reason was given for the lengthy delay. Overall I would highly recommend this clinic as you will be in good hands.

I couldn't recommend Focus enough! I was hesitant about getting laser eye surgery but as soon as I had my first phone call with them I was put at ease. They are so professional, accomodating and helpful. I do not live in London so I thought appointments would be difficult to arrange around work, but it was very much the opposite as they went above and beyond to fit me in each time.
I used to wear -2/-2.25 contact lenses and straight after my surgery had 20/16 vision. At my one month check up it had improved to 20/12! The additional money is definitely worth paying when it comes to your eyes. The aftercare was also outstanding! There really is absolutely nothing that I could fault. I'm very glad I chose Focus, it's a life long investment that has paid off!

After a lot of research I decided to go for Focus Clinics as they were so highly recommended and had the 10-year guarantee, which was reassuring. I had Lasik surgery in April and it has been incredible. They were very professional and I felt they really took the time to check my eyes beforehand to make sure having the surgery would be suitable and safe for me. The care received at Focus Clinics was amazing. I felt safe and secure given the current pandemic (everyone wearing their masks, hand washing etc.). I also felt and ease on the day of my surgery. My eyesight is now better than 20/20 and I have barely any discomfort or after effects and it’s only been 2 weeks since the surgery. I had lens replacement in one eye to improve my reading vision. The surgeon Mr Hamada explained in great detail what was going to happen during the surgery with the lens implant which gave me confidence to go ahead. I felt that I was in very good hands and was completely relaxed on the day of my operation. Although the lens implant was not a complete success due to the fact that I had laser treatment on this eye previously, the clinic quickly assessed that I needed a different prescription and I underwent another operation to give me the reading distance that I wanted. I was very impressed the the final result and the aftercare service was excellent.

The staff is very welcoming, nice and friendly. The clinic is a nice place were I felt comfortable being. The explanations before, during and after the surgery were clear and they made sure I was understanding and being okay with everything. I had dry eyes (more than usual) after the surgery and they were very reassuring and gave me and adequate treatment. At the time I am writing this I just had my 6th month follow up appointment and everything is fully healed and back to normal with a vision greater than 20/20 !

Following a personal recommendation, my husband and I decided to visit Focus Clinics to have laser eye surgery. Both of us were eligible for the surgery and we were booked in to have it done on the same day. I am writing this review 1 day after my LASIK surgery, and have nothing but positives to say about Focus Clinics. All the staff are very friendly and polite, and most importantly make you feel at ease about the procedure. The surgeon was great during the surgery, constantly trying to make you feel relaxed and distract you whilst he was operating. The procedure itself was painless, slightly uncomfortable but to be expected, and was roughly 5 minutes per eye. I noticed an immediate improvement in my vision, although my eyes were very watery and dry. I was given lots of eye drops to take, including some anaesthetic drops to take for the first few hours. For roughly 4 hours post surgery, my eyes were very sensitive and constantly watering. I then decided to take the anaesthetic drops which allowed me to have a 2 hour nap. I woke up and my eyes were much better, only slightly dry, no worse than if I have worn my contact lenses for too long, and they have been that way since. My vision is now actually better than 20/20, and my eyes are only slightly dry (more than bearable). I would recommend this 1000%.

Operation excellent, second to none , better than 20/20 vision !! After care is absolutely zero, very poor , did not answer emergency number , raised a complaint, done a subject access request on telephone calls as say they called back the next day !! They did not !! I had to call after weekend for them to acknowledge, even next day was not good enough !! This is the eyes we are talking about, I will take this to ombudsman if need be?? NHS is not like this

I based my decision to go with Focus after my colleague recommending them having had her laser there. I naturally researched and read the reviews too.
I have not been disappointed. It is about 2 months post surgery as I'm writing this and genuinely it's the best decision I made to have it done.
I would say to anyone thinking of laser eye surgery to perhaps watch a video on youtube to understand how Lasik actually works, if you were nervous like me. It helps you to understand that you really can't go blind when you understand the technicality of what the procedure is. Avoiding thoughts of maybe I should do one eye at a time? also to bear in mind not everyone is eligible for it, so not to raise your hopes before going through all the checks.

Staff were super nice and very informative making me comfortable throughout the whole process. Follow up sessions were very good and had no complaints about the whole process. I honestly can't thank the team at Focus Clinic enough. Customer service is superb and their knowledge is equally great. I started the Lasik surgery process in May 2021. Unfortunately my surgery had to be delayed a year due to my prescription changing significantly in less than 12 months, and I am thankful to Dr David Allamby for postponing. The team contacted me again for my new prescription in February 2022 and I was booked back in for consultation and for treatment. All I can say is "Wow". From start to finish the team were with me every step of the way, and so empathetic when I was overwhelmed following my surgery as I could see immediately. Everything was really thorough - The staff are so friendly and explain everything to you. The clinic is so easy to find and really clean - and very Covid secure.
The surgery has literally been life changing and I regret not getting it sooner 100% recommend focus clinics!! I had my surgery at 2:30 pm and was watching TV without glasses that very evening / after-care has also been amazing and they have been with me every step of the way.

I cannot recommend Focus Clinics highly enough. From my initial enquiry phone call, to post surgery, the level of customer care is outstanding. I travelled from the North of Scotland to London to have my surgery. The commute did not put me off in the slightest because I knew I had chosen the best clinic. With regular communication on the run-up to the surgery, I was filled with confidence and trust in the whole team. On the day of the surgery, I was made to feel comfortable and completely at ease by the team. WOW ????!!!! Had my Lasik eye surgery yesterday, couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was, within 10 mins my vision was much better, and today I went back for follow up check and I have better than 20-20 vision I got 20-16!! Difference is night and day like going from a old tv to 4k, I can actually even see better than I could with my glasses before ???? was some minor discomfort after the treatment as to be expected but I Just went home in a taxi by myself, had 3 hour nap and felt much better no pain meds etc and today there is Zero pain I have been out walking/driving with Sunglasses on and can already tell this going to make such a massive improvement to my life in so many ways, I cant thank the team at Focus Clinics enough, all the staff are so genuinely friendly and professional in all that they do! 10/10 from me, and my partner is going to hers next, all the reviews on here speak for themselves cheers guys!!

It has been 18 months since I had my laser eye surgery. I had a relatively simple prescription prior to surgery and was told I fell into the category of guaranteed 100% 20:20 vision after the procedure.
Unfortunately I had astigmatism in both eyes after the procedure that has persisted and I believe this was very similar to the amount of astigmatism I had prior to the surgery. I have blurred vision when trying to read long distance objects and was told it was still 20:20 vision but blurred because of the astigmatism which is misleading.
Very professional with appointments prior to procedure and afterwards. Both optometrists and doctor were very thorough in their explanations and answered all of my questions. The care I receive in the perioperative period was great.
However I have to give 4 stars because it is significantly more expense than other companies but I was willing to pay the extra because of the 100% guarantee. Unfortunately results aren’t what I expected. They offered to redo the procedure but warned me that because the astigmatism was slight it could go the other way and I could become long sighted which I didn’t want and there was no guarantee they could fix it. I was also offered glasses to see if sorting out the astigmatism would make a difference to my daily life and help with my decision but it never arrived and Royal Mail asked me to pay for the delivery which considering the amount we paid for the procedure, is very disappointing.

I had the ICL procedure last year at Focus. My eyesight was quite high in both eyes (almost double figures). Together with astigmatism it meant I was not eligible for laser. The clinic warned me after the initial telephone consultation that it might not be possible to go down that route. Having this conversation before going for the tests was very helpful. Instead they told me I may be able to have ICL. I was not familiar with this. It's less common than laser, but has its own merits. One of which is that it is reversible. Even though less procedures are carried out, it has been around long enough that it is tried and tested and relatively safe.
I had the chance to meet with Mr Hamada before the procedure. This was informative and good. He is obviously an expert in his field and marvellous at his job. On the day I felt like I was in good hands. Everyone around was lovely. We had a minor issue with one eye as it turned out there was a little area that wasn't taking the anaesthetic, which was a painful discovery for me, but the Dr stopped immediately, identified the issue and was able to work around it.
The procedure is not cheap. So, please consider your financial situation and decide if it is worth the outlay. There are many potential side effects, as there would be with any surgery. These can include needing top up laser, if there is still a residual prescription. The immediate time post surgery there is medicine and lots of eye drops to keep on top of. These are things to bear in mind and weigh against the convenience of no longer needing to wear glasses and/or contacts. Glasses and contacts never really bothered me and after the procedure I never had a "wow this life-changing moment". So, initially I didn't feel like it had made any massive difference. It was like having contacts in all the time. However, with the benefit of a year it has made aspects of life easier. Waking up and being able to see is fun! No longer needing to bring packs of contacts or prescription sunglasses on holidays and being able to see in the pool or sea is great. Doing sports is better too. That being said, if I wasn't able to afford it or wasn't able to due to my eyes or prescription not having stabilised, I would have been content to keep wearing glasses and contacts.
Aftercare with the clinic is magnificent. I felt like they took all my concerns seriously and didn't just discharge me within a few months after the procedure. As I still had halos and dryness for a fairly long time after, they kept observing me and checking up with me until there was sufficient improvement. In the days post surgery they were in contact to make sure all was well and answered all my questions. They were all mega nice whenever I came to the clinic. They gave me eye drops when I dropped by and needed them.
If you are able to comfortably pay for the procedure, then I would highly recommend you use Focus. The investment in your eyes can be worth it. It is a major decision though, so please do your research. I can only say from my experience that I'm glad I did it and please bear in mind I was on the fence about having anything done for so long, probably even up to the day of my procedure. Focus made me feel looked after along the whole journey and never pushed hard to force me to make my decision. They provide top level service and I'm lucky I had a friend recommend them to me.

I had the eye operation 8 years ago and I do not regret it. I had 2 specialist researchers to review UKs best eye clinics as I was very sceptical and wanted only the best for my eyes. Dr Allamby performed the operation all went well, up until today i have a fantastic eye-sight glasses free. Thanks so much.

I am so happy with the outcome of the PRK treatment I received. I now have the vision I was dreaming about. I would like to give a special thanks to the focus team and Mr Hamada who were amazing. This was a completely life changing experience which I will not forget and will not regret. It was definitely worth it and I would highly recommend it to anyone !!!
