What is a Facelift? 

A facelift, medically known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to give a more youthful look to the face and the jawline by removing excess skin, smoothing out wrinkles and simply tightening the facial tissue. It is designed specifically to handle the lower part of your face, that is the jowls and the neck.

It involves an incision under the ear to manipulate the skin that covers the deeper tissue. Your surgeon may inject or remove some fat as well depending on the case.

• People over the mid-forties to fifties are usually good candidates for a facelift 
• Patients with excess skin around the mouth, jaw and neck.

The scarring is almost invisible within one to two weeks.

• Bruises from the surgery may last up to few weeks

How much does a facelift cost?

A facelift can cost anywhere between $2500 in places such as Hungary, Turkey and Poland all the way up to $10000 if it’s done in countries such as the United States or Britain where the medical sector generally costs more. The cost is evidently affected by the living expenses level of each country, salaries, and equipment. However, the country where the surgery is performed is not the only factor. The type of the surgery itself and the extent of the individual patterns of aging and concerns each patient has also can seriously impact the cost of the surgery. Common things to keep in mind that affect the price of a facelift surgery are: 

• Longer Procedure (cost of operation room and anesthesia cost)
• Previous facelifts that needs to be corrected 
• Will there be other procedures at the sometime, like liposuction or eyebrows lift.
